Overcome your phobia or fear

How my hypnotherapy sessions can help you to overcome your phobia(s) and fear(s)The good news is that I am able to help you overcome your phobia(s) and fear(s) quickly and effectively with the use of hypnotherapy. This can be done in a very relaxed and dissociated way without the need to unnecessarily and painfully recall past events. The brain can be retrained to understand that these situations are actually safe and the phobia can be deconditioned. The fear response can be attached to all sorts of stimuli including some unusual ones which is why some phobias can sometimes seem very irrational or indeed quite absurd. In reality the phobic response to a stimuli is merely our survival mechanism going off in the wrong way. Humans have evolved to have an instinctive fear response because if we discovered something to be dangerous, to attach an immediate and instinctive fear response to it would mean that we were more likely to survive in the future. When you have a high level of emotional intensity, this can easily and unconsciously become linked/glued to a specific stimulus. This explains why people can become phobic of some seemingly very unusual stimuli (e.g. buttons, a particular colour, balloons, beards, umbrellas). Some of the more common phobias and fears are:

The Rewind Technique(also known as the Fast Phobia Cure or Visual Kinnesthetic Dissociation (VKD)Technique) I am well trained in the rewind technique which is a fantastic technique for treating phobias and fears and one which has startling results. Phobias can almost always be successfully treated with this technique in only one session. The great benefit of this technique is that it is unnecessary to refer to any upsetting memories in too much detail. The technique allows for the phobic memory to move from the amygdala (the emotional part of the brain which alerts us to danger and which stimulates the body's 'flight or fight' response) and to be translated as a verbal or narrative memory in the neo-cortex where the memory is then stored. The memory is then reclassified by the brain as non-threatening and one which no longer activates the terror response. For more information or to make your appointment contact me, Mark Pegler:
